So, I haven't posted in a while, I don't think that's really a problem but anyways moving on, So.... I quit my last job (Play N Trade) on good terms with the owner, he needed to take my job. I actually got a call from my great friend Joe Black, he gave me a call and explained to me that there was a job opening at MACU (Mountain America Credit Union) as a PC Specialist, so without hesitation, I decided to move towards the position. I first received a phone interview, it was actually quite exciting, I was asked very general questions about my work habits, nothing really on the technical side, the lady on the phone said someone would give me a call in the next few days. So, I patiently waited for someone to call. Finally, one morning a man by the name of Travis Rice, gave me a call and setup an interview, I went in and spoke to him, again mostly general knowledge questions, educational background, etc... then the week after Travis gives me a call and says "Hey Alex we would like to have you come in for a 2nd interview", knowing this was a job I was seeking for, of course I said yes. He then went on to explain he would see me Thursday I believe it was at around 11:30 or so.... I was excited. About 10 minutes later I got another call from Travis in which he said he would like to take me out to lunch on Wednesday, well seeing this as an opportunity I couldn't pass up (yet again) I accepted the proposal. Lunch went fine and I am actually officially hired. I begin tomorrow and hope to have a wonderful and information packed Monday. I've been reading a wonderful book called "No More Mondays" by Dan Miller and also listening to his podcasts, cool enough, this book is freakin' awesome, it talks about starting your own business and how to positively influence those around you and make your workplace a more enjoyable environment. I'm loving this book! Some other books I've been reading, (I read about 3 - 5 books at a time, start one, enjoy it for a bit, start another, then go back and enjoy them some more, i guess its my reading style) are, The One Minute Manager, The One Minute Salesperson, The Go-Getter, How to win friends and influence people (audiobook), Financial Peace University, Guerilla Marketing, and quite a few more. I'm loving all of these books and Love to read books people recommend to me. If you have any please leave a comment of some awesome ones to read please. - Haliee and I have been going back to church, today, we slacked off though because we were really tired and retarded for not going, however we want to get married in the temple so we are working towards that, (slowly but surely). I recently had the opportunity to attend Dave Ramsey's Business Coach Live Event here at the Salt Palace not too long ago, that was a freakin' awesome experience, If you couldn't tell I'm a really big dave ramsey fan. The way he talks seriously inspires me to become a better person and gives me hope. I really appreciate all of his work, if you have a chance to read one of his books, listen to his radio show, or anything, I would recommend it! Anyways, I think this was a lot of babbling and I'm pretty sure I'm going to be getting up early tomorrow, so I think i should head off to bed. I believe I have some sort of orientation tomorrow, if not then I'm dressing up for nothing, (another good thing about the new job laid back dress code) but anyways, I will let you go, thanks for reading. I would just like to give a special thanks to my wife haliee for always supporting my decisions and loving me unconditionally - I love you. Thanks again Joe, Erica, and Christopher!

Adobe Air Broke My Zip Files!
Thursday, 17 April 2008
After installing Adobe Air on my Ubuntu laptop, (for use with Twitter/Twhirl) The stupid thing started changing all my zip files so whenever I clicked on them the ubuntu thought they were adobe air files, and actually changed the icon right before my eyes. As we all know, this shouldn't happen and caused quite a fuss, I thought ubuntu was dead forever, I tried deleting the program, removing files, yeah... that didn't work. So, as always, I googled about it and sure enough, found a solution. This is actually from the site Dustypixels.com, (link here) but the actual solution was provided by an Adobe Support Specialist. Here's the fix! (Edited to make a tiny bit more understandable)
